The RR2 Rescue Sled is lightweight and portable, both inflated and deflated. It is easy to manoeuvre and can be paddled, pulled by hand or towed by a jet ski, boat or small hovercraft. It was developed as a casualty transfer system for use in shallows and mud. The unit handles extremely well in accessing areas that rescue boats cannot reach, providing a stable working platform for marine rescue. the unit is easily towed, paddled or line transferred and packs down to a small, easy to handle size making a versatile and effective system. Further developments of the RR2 led to trials in conjunction with Swift Water Rescue techniques. The Swift Water system allows the sled to quickly access rescue situations in fast flows of water. The sled has been used operationally with jet skis and fast rescue craft for the recovery of casualties. When clipped to the side of a fast rescue craft or pontoon, the sled will act as a platform enabling easy recovery of secured casualties, swimmers or divers.
